About the Class
Grand Challenge
This year’s NEA Grand Challenge is Urban Infrastructure. Students will work both independently and with their classmates to collaborate with the Savannah Chatham Homeless Authority on the Veterans’ Village project. Students will have hands on experience while observing all components of infrastructure associated with erecting a housing area. The end product will result in students researching and designing the best floor plan for a tiny house suitable for a family of 4, as well as producing a layout for a community of 24 houses. To view more information about the project and see student work samples, please visit our GRAND CHALLENGE website.
Science Fair
All students are required to participate in science fair. Students will use an alternating class schedule in order to complete requirements during school hours.

About Me
I grew up in Oxford, North Carolina where I attended J.F. Webb High School. I attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2012. While at Methodist, I was a member of the women's soccer team. After working as an event coordinator for 4 years, I decided to pursue my Master of Art in Teaching - Secondary Education Science at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. I am a proud Army wife and mother to our two beautiful daughters. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family.
